The volunteer Scout leaders, Venturers, and Boy Scouts of Nischa Nimat district provided a fun filled day and night for nearly 90 Cub Scouts and their families at the annual Cub Scout Day Camp held June 13 at Lake Icaria near Corning, Iowa. Cub Scout Packs from nearly all of the district plus three packs from Ohwanasee district attended.
New Focus for Elma Transfer Station

Elma residents who have paid a recent visit to the Creek Road Transfer Station may have noticed a change when they went to drop off their trash and recyclables. The facility underwent a transformation in June, when the town reorganized the site and expanded the blacktopped area.

It was a full evening for Elk Grove Lions on June 22 as they installed officers for the 2009-10 year, inducted a new member, and handed out numerous awards to about two dozen members, following dinner at Vince’s Ristorante in Elk Grove.
